Senior technology judgment for businesses that have outgrown informal IT.
You're making technology calls you shouldn't have to — or an MSP is handling tickets while nobody owns the strategy behind them, and you're curious about AI but not sure what's worth building. I bring the same senior judgment that kept technology stable across 1,000+ locations, right-sized for a business your size, without the cost of a full-time executive — and I can build what I recommend, not just point at it.
Remote-first, senior, and hands-on. Based in Broken Arrow, OK.
Advice you can trust — and someone who can build it
Most fractional technology leaders bring one of these. I bring both.
Executive-level operations, at scale
Five-plus years leading IT strategy and modernization across 1,000+ locations in a multi-brand retail environment — owning roadmap, vendor negotiations, budget, and governance, and reporting directly to executive leadership across Operations, Finance, and Legal.
Modern engineering, built solo
Outside of that role, I designed and built a production multi-tenant SaaS application end-to-end — isolated per-tenant PostgreSQL databases, full CI/CD pipelines with automated test harnesses, SOC 2-aligned governance with tamper-evident audit logging, and integrated LLM APIs with retrieval-augmented generation, with a human kept in the loop on every consequential action.
Most people who can plan the fix can't build it. Most people who can build it have never run the budget. Decision Clarity is built on both.
Ways to work together
Three ways to engage, depending on what you need right now.
Technology assessment & advisory
A focused evaluation of a specific technology problem — an environment, a roadmap, a vendor situation, or a strategic decision — with a clear recommendation and a path forward.
Fractional technology leadership
Ongoing senior technology guidance on strategy, vendors, budget, and risk — the same judgment you'd get from a full-time technology executive, without having to hire one.
Project-based AI & technology builds
For repetitive manual work, scattered internal knowledge, or AI experiments that need real governance before they reach production. I design and build the solution myself — workflow automation, internal knowledge tools (RAG), and governed, audit-ready systems — not just a recommendation.
Price follows scope, not the other way around — every engagement starts with a conversation, not a package.
The track record behind the judgment
Real numbers from running technology across a national, multi-brand retail operation.
If technology can stay stable and secure across 1,000+ locations, your environment is a very solvable problem. Former Senior Manager, Retail Location Services at Driven Brands Inc., now working independently. Deep experience in infrastructure modernization, SOC 2-aligned governance, and AI-enabled systems — available to clients anywhere, remotely.
How it works
Simple and low-risk. You know the plan and the price before any work begins.
Discovery
A short call to understand your systems, your pain points, and where you want to go. No charge, no pressure.
Scope & plan
A clear one-page proposal: exactly what I'll do, the timeline, and a fixed or hourly price. You decide.
Build & support
I do the work, keep you in the loop the whole way, and stay available for whatever comes next.
Let's talk about what's slowing you down.
Tell me what you're dealing with. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help — and if it's a fit, we'll scope the engagement together. No job is too small: a quick fix, a second opinion, or a one-off build gets the same senior judgment as a larger engagement.
